NEWS FROM THE PEWS

Its been a very busy last few months and the pace  shows now sign of slowing as we begin Advent.

In October and November we have had two fabulous musical events, an Autumn Recital and then an evening with the Alma Singers. Both were extremely well supported and enjoyed by all. SINCERE THANKS to all involved.

A BIG SHOUT OUT also to all those that helped tidy up the churchyard on 10th November in preparation for the Remembrance Service and Songs of Praise.

With Advent upon us, some key dates in December:-

The Carol Service is on Wednesday 18th December at 7pm. Carols and readings accompanied once again by Renhold Quartet.  Mulled wine and mince pies will be served in the Chapter House afterwards. All welcome.

The Crib Service at 4pm on Christmas Eve is always very popular. Children of all ages are invited to dress up and take part in this short service that helps us to focus on the true wonder of Christmas. If any children would like to get involved in narrating, please contact Sarah on 01234 347115.

Midnight Mass is at 11pm and is the first chance to celebrate Christmas with communion. We also get to sing all the verses of O Come All Ye Faithful!

On Christmas Day our special Christmas Eucharist is at 11am and suitable for all the family.

A note that there will not be a Holy Communion service on New Years Day.

Looking a head to January. We are excited that our new Minister in Charge, the Reverend Ian Smith, will be installed on 15th January. Plans are shaping up and Rev Ian will take his first Parish Eucharist on Sunday 19th January.

Finally, our annual Christmas Hamper Raffle is underway. Tickets are £1 per strip with all proceeds going to the Church. These can be purchased from any after all services and events throughout December. The draw will take place after the Carol Service in 18th December.

As always, please email Jill as the first point of contact should you need any information or  if you need of a priest - jbarrell251@gmail.com.
